Hi my name is Chewy! Well, this is the name that I like and respond to best :)

I was surrendered to the rescue by my previous owner and I am now looking for my true forever home.

I’m happy go lucky, carefree, engaging, adaptive, and cheerful. I like to take my time approaching new situations. While I am a bit shy with new faces and places, I warm up as I become more familiar with my environment. While I do get along with others, due to my size / age / personality I would do best in a home with no children.

My foster parents have been helping me to learn manners or what we call 'Petiquette'. Sometimes I have trouble controlling my excitement and impulses. I have a tendency to be a bit pushy and can play a little rough with other small dogs but I'm finally figuring it out.

Being a young dog, exercise keeps me happy and content, without it I can get a little worked up. I do best when I have had a chance to get my energy out so that I can be calm later. Going for walks, engaging in play, and doing outdoor activities with my new family daily would make me very happy! And when it's time to chillax, forget the couch or the bed, lying in your cozy lap is where I want to be!

I would do well with some additional positive reinforcement training especially socializing with new people. I will require regular grooming and annual vet checks so the more comfortable I am around people, the better these experiences will be for everyone! I would also do good with another dog who can put up with my playfulness and energy!
