Hi! My name is Franklin!

I was found as a stray in 2008 after 3 feet of snow melted and there I was! I managed to hibernate and survive! I then became an ambassador animal ever since. I have recently retired and I am now looking for my forever home!

Fun fact about me! I was caught climbing a bedroom wall. I was about 7 feet off the ground when I was discovered. I am a true adventurer!

I am an ornate box turtle. I'm an omnivore and I can live inside or outside. California is not my native habitat so my environment needs to be managed and maintained daily in terms of humidity either way. Having a safe enclosure is a must but also having access to fresh air, sun, water, lots of exploring space, and a place to workout is also needed.

Don't worry, we can help you to know what you need for an inside or an outside home - and you can do both!

If you think we may be a good match, or you would like to get to know me better, please click the Adoption Application button below and you will be contacted to set up a date!

PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT SHIP OUR ANIMALS. We can only accept applications from interested parties who are in or near San Diego County, California at this time.
