FREDDY IS PENDING ADOPTION - WE ARE NOT TAKING ANY MORE APPLICATIONS FOR FREDDY AT THIS TIME
Hi! My name is Freddy because of my cool colors and patterns and because I arrived at the rescue in October!
A staff member at the pet store I was at was worried about me so they transferred me to rescue to help me find my new home! I am still considered a baby so I will need a home that wants to work with me fairly regularly as I am still getting used to being handled.
Fun fact about me - while other kingsnakes get quite long, I actually will stay relatively small. My bands are intended to mimic those of the venomous coral snake, warding off potential predators. Also, I am generally solitary and nocturnal, being most active at night and dusk.
Here is a note from my foster dad - 'Freddy is a really cool snake, I can't believe he hasn't been adopted yet! He is a great eater, has a great activity level, and he has beautiful unique banding, what's not to love! If I didn't already have 2, well you know what I'm going to say. Whoever gets this character is going to luck out.'
While we are not completely sure of my age, I am still quite young and if cared for properly, I can live between 15 and 20 years. And again, I am a smaller snake, only growing as long as 24 to 48 inches or between 4 and 4 feet. Unlike a ball python, I will also stay nice and slender and light in weight.
I'm very healthy and I am a great eater unless I am about to go into a shed. My activity level is fairly active and quick. I'm definitely not a couch potato, more like a lean athlete that likes to go go go. I require my own habitat and because of my curious nature, it will need to be secure. With the right diet, habitat, substrate, temperature, and humidity I can live a long and healthy life!
