PAZ IS PENDING ADOPTION - WE ARE NO LONGER TAKING APPLICATIONS FOR HIM AT THIS TIME

Hi! My name is Paz because of my beautiful color!

I was brought into the shelter as a stray. My finder found me clinging to a palm tree in a park and no one cane to reclaim me. The shelter thought I would do best in a rescue with foster parents who had time to socialize me.

I am still learning what it means to be handled by humans. My foster parents have been taking it slow with me so that I learn from positive interactions. I have not started the 'teenage' phase yet where puffing and tail snapping come into play. Once I am held I do calm down though.

This is also the type of person I am looking for to adopt me. Someone with iguana or at least reptile experience who is willing to commit to not only me right now, as cute as I am, but me through all of my emotional phases and growing pains. I am also looking for someone who will commit to me for my entire lifetime, which can be 20+ years, but also commit to giving me the right living situation as I grow. My length can be from 12 – 17 inches (Snout to vent), this does not include the length of my tail. And in terms of weight, if I am male (too young to tell yet) I can get up to 8.8 lbs and if I am female I can weigh between 2.6 – 6.6 lbs. This is of course, if I am truly a green iguana, I may be blue!

I am a vegetarian so all veggies and some fruits for me. NO BUGS OR MEAT! This will severely upset my health. I can eat a variety of veggies so getting creative so I don't get bored would be amazing!!!
