Hi! My name is Verdi because of my beautiful color!

I was rescued from a pet store because I purchased and later returned because they didn't handle me so that I had human socialization and I started my 'teenage' antics. The people who bought me didn't do their research first! I had also grown quite a bit so the pet store didn't feel they could 'sell' me again. Fortunately, I was discovered by the rescue and taken in. I have also already lost my ail but it has grown back so all is well there!

I am a young iguana so I am still learning what it means to be handled by humans. My foster parents have been taking it slow with me so that I learn from positive interactions. I have started the 'teenage' phase yet were puffing and tail snaping come into play. My foster parents are hoping to get me past that point without reinforcing it.

This is also the type of person I am looking for to adopt me. Someone with iguana or at least reptile experience who is willing to commit to not only me right now, as cute as I am, but me through all of my emotional phases and growing pains. I am also looking for someone who will commit to me for my entire lifetime, which can be 20+ years, but also commit to giving me the right living situation as I grow. My length can be from 12 – 17 inches (Snout to vent), this does not include the length of my tail. And in terms of weight, if I am male (to young to tell yet) I can get up to 8.8 lbs and if I am female I can weigh between 2.6 – 6.6 lbs.

I am a beautiful iguana and with the right care, I can become a great companion!

I am a vegetarian so all veggies and some fruits for me. NO BUGS OR MEAT! This will severely upset my health. I can eat a variety of veggies so getting creative so I don't get bored would be amazing!!!

If you think we may be a good match, or you would like to get to know me better, please click the Adoption Application button below my profile and you will be contacted to set up a date!
