JASPER IS PENDING ADOPTION - WE ARE NOT TAKING ANY MORE APPLICATIONS FOR HIM AT THIS TIME
Hi! My name is Jasper!
I was rescued from a bad situation where I acquired a lower back injury so I am considered 'special needs'. Though I have been cleared by the vet, this means that I don't always use my back legs though I CAN use them, and I need extra help with my back feet when I shed. This also means that I have a bit of extra weight on me too. The rescue took me in and now I am looking for my final and forever home!
Fun Fact about me: Because I am very close to being an albino but unlike other albinos who have a hard time seeing their food, I think everything is food! So you want to make sure I have already been fed before handling me ;)
If cared for right, I can live up to 20 years and grow as long as 10 inches! Though with my injury, we really don't know. I may be a small lizard but I'm a big commitment. Unlike other geckos, I don’t have sticky fingers to climb up walls. I am fairly delicate but hardy, though if scared I can drop my tail. This means I lose my fat reserves. It will grow back but it's better if I never lose it in the first place. A fat tail means that I am healthy!
I am nocturnal so I like to eat and socialize in the evening with my people. I am also an insectivore, which means I love eating a variety of bugs! Most importantly, I need to be house all by myself. We do not cohabitate, even if another gecko is of the opposite gender.
Something to note, I am a great eater, and I will come charging when it's feeding time so make sure your fingers are not in my way. Being nocturnal it's best if I eat in dim light so I can see my food. Bright light is really hard on my eyes.
If you think we may be a good match, or you would like to get to know me better, please click the Adoption Application button below and you will be contacted to set up a date!
