✨🐍 New Year, New Beginning 🐍✨
Hi there! I’m Vanilla Latte — though my friends call me ’Nilla — and I’m ready to start my next chapter with a forever family. 💛
I was surrendered to a shelter on 4/28/2021, and while my early story has some missing pages, what was clear is that I had been through a rough start. I arrived with injuries likely caused by live feeding, I was underweight, scared, and very head shy. Because of that, I was placed into the rescue’s medical and behavior modification program, where I was given the time, patience, and care I truly needed to heal.
And heal I did. ✨ As the months went on, my confidence grew, my body became strong and healthy, and my true personality began to shine through. I even became part of the rescue’s education program, helping others learn just how incredible ball pythons can be. Now that I’m happy, healthy, and thriving, the rescue believes I deserve something special in this new year — a home of my very own.
I’m not just sweet on the inside either. My stunning colors and patterns suggest I may be a vanilla/fire complex, possibly with enchi mixed in — an absolutely gorgeous combination that makes me as eye-catching as I am gentle.
🐍 Ball Python Basics
• Generally calm, slow-moving, and well-suited for responsible homes
• Typically do well with gentle, consistent handling once settled
• Require a secure enclosure with proper temperature gradients and humidity
• Feed on appropriately sized frozen/thawed rodents
• Nocturnal and crepuscular — most active in the evening hours
• Low noise, low odor, and minimal daily maintenance when set up correctly
• Can live 20–30+ years with proper care, making them a long-term commitment
• Best for adopters willing to learn and maintain species-appropriate husbandry
