Hi! My name is Goldie the baby crested gecko!
I was surrendered to the rescue because I was an unexpected surprise. I am looking for a home where I am part of the family.
I am a low-maintenance, kickback, easy-going, nocturnal lizard with sticky feet. I start to stir as you start to settle for the evening. Perfect timing for you to spray my enclosure and give me some yummy food for the night! I may or may not be awake when you get up in the morning, but the second spritz of water is all you need to do to make sure I am okay for the day! Oh, and my food is already prepared so if you don't like bugs in the house, I may be the perfect pet for you!
Being a baby, I am very quick but still manageable. I need to be handled several times a week to learn to trust hands and to form a relationship with my adult people. My age and size do not make me a good candidate for younger children.
I do like to climb so my house will need to be tall with lots of hiding places and leaves to retain the water you spray in for me to drink. While my temp should only be in the 70's, I do require a low-level UVB light during the day. While some may say it's okay for us to live with others, that's how accidents or surprises like me happen. This is also how many of us lose our tails so I will need to live on my own to keep me happy and healthy. With the right diet, habitat, substrate, temperature, and humidity I can live a long and healthy life that can be as long as 10-20 years!
