Hi! My name is Rocket!
I have had a bit of a rough start in life. I was found as a stray, adopted by the wrong home for a year, then rescued and adopted again by a great home for 5 years but because of some residual issues, it just didn’t work out. I’m now at the rescue and looking for my right forever home, could it be with you?
Aside from having some struggles with certain physical and personality types, I am what my foster mom says is ‘the perfect dog’! I love women, kids, cats, other dogs, hikes, camping, walks, playing, lounging, and of course, napping.
While I can get along with most men there are some personalities and physical traits that trigger my fear and flight response. So I am not opposed to living in a home with adult or teen males, but we would need to make sure that I am not triggered by them.
Having said that, my ideal home would be with a female or females and possibly a few kids who are respectful of animals like me. Having another dog would be great but is not necessary. Play dates, dog walk socials, and coffee shops work for me too!
Here’s a note from my previous family, ‘Rocket is sweet and gentle. He is well-trained on a leash and harness. He loves to be dressed up in clothing, he has his own wardrobe.
Rocket is afraid of certain men. He was mistreated in his previous homes and is very fearful of some men but not all. He is also extremely afraid of bangs like a backfire, the 4th of July, balloons, and bubble wrap.
Rocket does not like peanut butter-flavored things, he prefers cheese. He is an opportunist and will reach onto counters when you're not looking and grab your bread or butter.
Rocket is crate trained and does know his basic commands. He knows to ‘sit, wait, shake’ to get his meal.
We love him and regret that we were not the right home for him because he feared my husband who literally adored Rocket :( “
Oh, and just so you know, I am a Korean Jindo mix. My previous family did a DNA test for me. Does it really matter though? Naw, I’m just a good ‘ole dog who loves life! I have had my name my entire life so it would be awesome if I could keep it too.
