Hi! My name is Puppers, a name I have known my entire life as it was registered on my microchip,

I was brought in as a stray with my buddy, who was more well-adjusted than I was. Even though we were chipped, no one reclaimed us. Because I have a unique personality, I was transferred to rescue to help find the right home for me.

As an individual, I am a very confident dog. In fact, I like to be a big dog with all four on the floor, meaning I am not one to be carried as arm candy.

I want to be your buddy, follow you around, watch what you are doing, share your lunch, and be treated as one of the guys. What I don’t want is to be babied, dressed up, fussed over, or toted as an ornament.

If you do try to treat me in a way other than I have shared, I am very, very vocal expressing my un-want for this treatment. While super rare, if pushed, I will warning snap you. I’m a buddy, a trot along with you, hang out, fist bump kind of guy. Not a doll. Capuche?

Right now I am looking for a home with patience while I learn the lay of the land yet I’m treated like the new kid on the block, a roomy of sorts, a place where I can just be me.

Even though I do get along with other dogs that are my size, as long as they let me be, I would be okay in a home where I am the only dog. Sorry, but kids and I are not a good combination, at least not right now.

Oh, something you may want to know, the rescue has had all of my medical taken care of. That’s right! I was neutered, I have since received all my shots, I was dewormed, I had a dental done, AND I had a large mass removed from my back end. You can’t even tell it was ever there – how great are they!?! – Now I am happy, healthy, and pain-free which has made my snarky attitude start to disappear!

What I’m trying to say is that, while I am still a cute little dog, I want to move in and be a companion, a buddy, a ‘let’s just hang out and watch movies’ kinda dog. If that’s what you are looking for, are you willing to take a chance on me?
