🎃💘 Hi, I’m Grimbolina Pretzel — but you can call me Grim! 🐍🕸️💀 Boo! 👻 Don’t worry — I’m more “treat” than “trick.” I’m a stunning ball python with an extraordinary pattern of tiny “alien heads” along my scales — perfectly spooky and spellbinding for the season! 🧙‍♀️✨ I’ve been part of the rescue family since July 2021, spending my days lounging like a queen of the underworld (or at least the warm side of my enclosure 👑🔥). Life here is full of care, enrichment, and love, but I’m still waiting for that one special human to call my forever familiar. 🕯️🐍 💖 Why You’ll Fall Under My Spell: 🦇 I’m a night owl — I love to explore after sunset when the moon is high. 🌙 🎃 My markings are mesmerizing — people say I look like living art straight out of a potion book! ✨ 🕸️ I’m curious and adventurous — at over 5 feet long, I’ve been known to vanish for a little midnight wander (a secure, locked enclosure keeps me from going on haunted house tours). 😉 🧡 I’m gentle and easygoing — just don’t grab my head or neck and we’ll be frightfully good friends. 👻 I adore safe, supervised out-of-enclosure time — perfect for cozy spooky movie nights! 🍿🕯️ 🐍 My Tale (or should I say... tail?) So Far: Once upon a time, a kind family adopted me from a neighbor. They loved me dearly but realized they weren’t quite ready for all the care a magical creature like me needs. So, they brought me here to the rescue, where I’ve been treated like royalty ever since. Still, I dream of my forever lair — somewhere calm, safe, and full of love. 💫 🕷️ I’ve waited a long time for someone who truly appreciates the wonder of ball pythons like me. With the right care, I could share 10–20 more enchanted years with you (and maybe even up to 40 if the fates allow!). 🎃💛 Fun (and Spooky) Ball Python Facts: 🦴 Ball pythons are known for curling into a tight “ball” when scared — it’s their version of disappearing into the shadows! 🕸️ They’re nocturnal — perfect for fellow night owls and Halloween enthusiasts. 🌙 🧪 Each snake’s pattern is unique, like a fingerprint or a potion recipe gone right. 💀 Ball pythons can live up to 40 years in captivity — long enough for many Halloween seasons together! 🦇 They’re one of the most popular pet snakes because of their calm, gentle nature. 💛 If you’d like to make me part of your family, please click the Adoption Application button below — I can’t wait to meet you! 👻🎃 ✨ PLEASE NOTE: 1️⃣🎃 We can only accept applications from interested parties who are in or near San Diego County, California at this time. 2️⃣💀 We do not ship reptiles 🚫✈️ but may be willing to work with you if you’re able to travel 🚗. 3️⃣🕸️ #2 will depend on the animal you’re applying for and is at the discretion of the board of directors.

Ball Python
Introduction
Ball pythons, also known as the Royal Python, are a non-venomous, constrictor species native to the bushlands and savannas of Central and Western Africa. They are a medium-sized snake ranging from 3-6 feet. These snakes are crepuscular, which means that they are most active at night, but especially active around dawn and dusk. As ambush hunters, they actively track down and then wait for prey such as rodents, birds, and lizards to scurry past before striking. Ball pythons are sexually dimorphic, which means there is a noteworthy difference in size between males(smaller) and females (larger), but not as large in some other snake species. Ball pythons have a 15-30 year lifespan in captivity.

Difficulty Notes
Ball pythons are among the most popular pet snakes. They are good beginner snakes because they are docile and easy to handle.

Temp Notes
The use of undertank heat mats with glass tanks or radiant heat panels as internal heaters for night heat, and cage guarded halogen/incandescent bulbs as day heat is preferred. Never install any heating device without plugging it into a thermostat and always securely wire the thermostat probe within the heating range of the device generating heat.
Diet
Carnivore
Diet Notes
Frozen thawed rodents in sizes equal to the girth of your snake at its center. Feeding frequency in general is 1 prey item fed in intervals coorisponding to the length in feet of your snake. A one foot snake would be fed weekly, a 4 foot snake every 4 weeks, etc. As ball pythons get larger their metabolism slows down. This is a guidleine, so adjust to the health of your specific snake to maintain a healthy weight.
