🎃👻 Hi there, I’m Mocha! 🐩🍫 I’m a 13 lb chocolate miniature poodle with a happy bounce in my step—just like most poodles! My two favorite things in the whole world are long, energetic walks 🏞️ and car rides 🚗. Oh, and I’ve had my name my whole life, so I’d really like to keep it, please. This Halloween, I’m having a hard time deciding my costume… should I go as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz 👠🌈, or the apple-bearing Wicked Witch from Snow White 🍎🧙‍♀️? Maybe you can help me decide! Before coming to the rescue, I hadn’t lived with other dogs, but I think I’d enjoy a friend my size who can show me how to play—though I’m still a little awkward at it! I can be a bit bossy, so a patient playmate who can give fair corrections is ideal. I’m also happy being the only pup in the home with some visiting friends. I was brought to the rescue because I need a home with someone experienced in resource guarding—especially around food, treats, and toys. I’m crate trained 🏠, and that’s my safe space where I like to eat and snooze. I’m not a bedtime snuggler, and I’ve been trained to stay off furniture—I prefer to keep all 4 paws on the floor 🐾. I’m independent, but I do need someone to help me maintain my boundaries. A few things to know about me: 🦇 Dog parks and beaches aren’t my thing—too chaotic for my style. 🕸️ I need a kid-free home, though respectful older teens may be okay. 🎃 Potty-trained ✅ and ready for long daily walks, a healthy diet, monthly grooming, and annual vet visits. 👻 Working with a positive reinforcement trainer experienced in resource guarding will help us grow together. 💛 The Rule of 3s for my forever home: 🕯️ First 3 days: decompress and adjust to a quiet, safe space. 🦇 Next 3 weeks: learn routines, build trust, and bond. 🎃 In 3 months: I’ll feel fully at home, confident, and part of the family. I’m smart, loyal, independent, and I’ll thrive with patience, consistency, and love.
