Hi! My name is Oleo!
I was surrendered by my mom only because she was not able to afford to keep me in this uncertain time. She raised me since i was the size of a pencil! Because she loved me so much, she worked hard to get me to a loving and caring rescue.
At only approximately 8 yrs old I am very large. My mom loved me but she was power feeding me too. Since being at the rescue I receive a balanced feeding schedule, the right size food, and I have been converted from live to frozen-thawed food.
I am a very social snake and I love being held and checking out new things! Being nocturnal, I spend most of the day sleeping in my hide but I do like to come out in the evening to socialize with all the members of my foster family. I think my photos show that :)
With the right diet, habitat, substrate, temperature, and humidity I can live a long and healthy life of up to 30 to 40 years! Though I am still considered young, I am larger for than most at my age but my max will be approximately 5 feet. We are not sure of my gender at this time but if I am female, I can get even longer!
If you think we may be a good match, or you would like to get to know me better, please click the Adoption Application button below and you will be contacted to set up a date!
Description:
The ball python is a python species native to West and Central Africa, where it lives in grasslands and shrub lands. This nonvenomous constrictor is the smallest of the African pythons, growing to a maximum length of 4 to 5 feet. The name 'ball python' refers to its tendency to curl into a ball when stressed or frightened. They can live up to 30 years with proper care. They are carnivorous and will require a regular supply of rodents.
