Hi! My name is Hook!

I got my name due to my unique arm and tail. My previous owner said that when I was a baby a hot lamp feel on my arm and I lost my hand and some natural mobility as a result. It doesn't bother me one bit though now. I still use it to sit up tall and run around. I'm not sure why but I have a special curl at the end of my tail too, like a hook!

Eventually my previous owner could no longer care for me, probably for the best, and I was surrendered to a local pet store and transferred to the rescue. Now that I have the proper care I’m happy-go-lucky, carefree, engaging, adaptive, and cheerful with lots of energy!

I am considered a juvenile. Right now I am transitioning to an adult diet. 80% greens/veggies, 15% protein, and 5% fruit.

As a beardie, I require my own habitat as we do best housed individually. With the right diet, habitat, substrate, temperature, and humidity I can live a long and healthy life of up to 12 to 14 years!

If you think we may be a good match, or you would like to get to know me better, please click the Adoption Application button below and you will be contacted to set up a date!

PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT SHIP OUR ANIMALS. We can only accept applications from interested parties who are in or near San Diego County, California at this time.

Description:
The bearded dragon is probably the most popular pet lizard by virtue of it having more of a personality than most other lizards. Beardies are widely captive bred and their care requirements are easily established given the right information. Beardies come from very hot regions of Australia and like it hot. Beardies eat insects and plant material and are usually very hardy feeders.
