🎁🐢 Hi there, I’m Poppy! 💛🌿
I slinked into the shelter as a stray, and after no one came to claim me, I found my way to the rescue to start searching for my forever home. I did find one once, but my family had to move to Alaska ❄️ — definitely not ideal for a warm, humidity-loving turtle like me! So now, I’m back and hoping to find a cozy, loving home just in time for the holiday season. 🎄✨
I’m a little omnivore with a taste for adventure… and bugs 🐛! But I also enjoy leafy greens, crunchy veggies, and a touch of fruit — yum! 🍎🥬 I’m still on the smaller side and only halfway to my full adult size, but I promise I have plenty of charm to share.
Though it’s hard to tell my exact age, I’m considered an adult. With the right care, three-toed box turtles like me can live up to 70 years, which means adopting me is a lifelong gift of companionship! 💚🎁
💛 A few festive facts about me and my turtle kind:
🌟 We’re called three-toed box turtles because we have… yep, three toes on each back foot! 🦶
❄️ We love warm, humid environments — think cozy, marshy habitats rather than icy tundras! 🌿💧
🎁 We’re omnivores, enjoying a mix of insects, veggies, and fruit for a healthy diet. 🐛🍓
🌟 We need large enclosures with lots of hiding spots, safe basking areas, and high humidity for shell and skin health.
🎄 With proper care, we can live up to 70 years, making me a long-term holiday companion for the right human.
I’m looking for a home that’s safe, warm, and humid, with someone who’ll help me thrive and keep me cozy both indoors and outdoors on sunny days 🌞. Don’t worry — the rescue team will guide you through everything to make sure I settle in perfectly.
